A fictional $2,400 balance transfer with a 3% added fee creates a $2,472 balance. Clearing it in 12 payments requires $206 per month. Pay $150 instead and $672 remains. Which would you check first: the fee, the required payment, or the rate after the offer? Explain why without sharing your debt balance.
Assumptions: the whole balance, including the fee, receives 0% interest for 12 full payment periods. No new spending, other fees or missed payments. Actual conditions, approval, transfer deadlines, payment allocation and later interest rates vary. This example does not specify existing interest charges and cannot establish overall savings. If payments are unmanageable, seek reputable local debt guidance. General education, not individualized advice.
