Shared bills calculator.
Compare an income-based split of a shared bill with a simple equal split between two people.
THE NUMBERS, WITHOUT THE DRAMA
How this works
Each income-based share is the bill multiplied by that person’s proportion of combined take-home income. Use incomes from the same period. Shares are rounded to two decimals, with the remainder assigned to person B so they add up to the bill. This is one way to split costs; agree on what works for both of you.
A quick example
With incomes of 3,000 and 2,000, a 1,800 bill splits into 1,080 and 720. An equal split would be 900 each.
