Purchase break-even calculator.
Compare an extra upfront cost with the real net saving each time you use a purchase, then turn the answer into a realistic timeline.
THE NUMBERS, WITHOUT THE DRAMA
How this works
We subtract the new cost per use from the cost you truly avoid, then divide the extra upfront cost by the resulting saving per use. The timeline divides break-even uses by your expected uses each month. It excludes financing costs, repairs, resale value, price changes, taxes, time, and purchases you would not otherwise make.
A quick example
An extra 180 purchase that avoids 4 per use but costs 2.80 per use saves 1.20 each time. It takes 150 uses to break even; at 4 uses a month, that is 37.5 months.
